located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with 665 students in grades K-8.
The 20-lesson group showed an average gain of 2.6 grade levels above
the control group, the 10-lesson group increased 1.7 grade levels,
and the 5-lesson group posted a 0.4 grade level gain.

Crispus Attucks and New Dowling Middle Schools
Houston ISD, Houston, Texas (Urban)
Crispus Attucks and New Dowling are middle schools
located in Houston, Texas. The schools have a combined total of
2,443 students in sixth- through eighth-grades.The IndiVisual Reading
program contributed to significant gains in the reading ability
of underachieving students involved in the pilot programs of Crispus
Attucks and New Dowling middle schools. From prior-intervention
to post-intervention, the participating students reading scores
at both schools increased an average of 14.7 Texas Learning Index
(TLI) points. This increase is equal to a Normal Curve Equivalents
(NCE) gain on the TLI of 5-6 points.

South St. Paul Public Schools District
South Saint Paul, Minnesota (Suburban)
The South St. Paul Public Schools District in South St. Paul,
Minnesota, consists of 3,437 students. All participating students
made significant gains in overall reading comprehension. With approximately
60 days of instruction under the supervision of a teacher's aide,
the intervention resulted in 26 of the 50 students passing their
BST exam in reading, increasing the entire eighth-grade class passing
rate by 10 percent over the prior year's student passing percentage.
Approximately 15 students were very close or "within range
# "of succeeding.

High Island School
High Island, Texas (Rural)
High Island School is located in High Island, Texas, with 285 students
in grades K-12. In 12 weeks, the test group completed an average
of 25 lessons and achieved an average 1.2 grade level increase on
the Slossan Oral Reading Test. All students in the test group demonstrated
positive gains while completing between 14 and 36 lessons.

Sleepy Eye Public Schools
Sleepy Eye, Minnesota
Sleepy Eye Public Schools, located in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, hosted
a summer migrant student program, developed by Minnesota Department
of Children, Families & Learning (CFL). The program, funded
by Title I, was designed to increase educational levels of migrant
Hispanic students. IndiVisuals experimental group gained one
full grade level in reading performance above the control group.
The CFL-based control group performed as expected, gaining 0.2 grade
levels.
